Dear Parishioners,
This is the Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time. "The end is coming!" These words could describe today's readings. What is even more important is what we do with the time we have until the end.
Malachi speaks the Word of the Lord and announces that the day is coming when all will meet with their just "rewards."
In the Gospel, Jesus predicts the end of Jerusalem and also the end of the world, and He warns His disciples that they may have to suffer, even at the hands of family and friends, in their proclaiming of the Good News.
One could be led to be fearful by the apparent message of doom in today's readings. The message for those who are responding to the Lord Jesus is one of encouragement, hope and even excitement. If one has accepted the Good News of salvation and has patterned one's life on living the Gospel, then one is reassured that the end of one's existence on this earth is not the ultimate destiny and the end of one's life, God has promised eternal life of healing, wholeness, and salvation for those who respond faithfully to God. To accept what God offers means we have to work at living it out in our lives. We must live our lives with the realization that we are facing the end. Our earthly existence is limited. We cannot take "it" with us. We are going to die and meet the Lord Jesus. That will be the end of our life on this earth as we know it. Do our lives demonstrate that we are working and living for the Lord Jesus? The Lord Jesus will confirm our choice when we are judged not only at the moment of our death, but also at the end of time when our choice will be evident to all.
May you continue to respond to the invitation that has been given you by the Lord Jesus and may that lead you to preparing yourself and helping to prepare others as you journey toward the House of our Father Who happens to be God. Amen!
God Bless,
Father George MSFS

Weekly proclamation based on hope for the Jubilee Year of Hope
Jubilee Year of Hope 2025
Jesus is Our Hope (1 Timothy 1:1)
Christ is the ultimate source of hope, comfort and salvation, particularly through His Resurrection and promise of eternal life. This hope is different from the hope of wishful thinking. Hope in the supernatural sense is a theological virtue, a gift from God that provides trust in his promises and empowers believers to persevere through difficulties by relying on God's grace and love. It is based on the belief that God's love and mercy will ultimately prevail, even in the face of life's suffering and pain. Let us ask ourselves if there is a hope in us that others can notice? During this Jubilee Year of Hope, let us ask Jesus to increase the gift of hope in us.
ST. FAUSTINA STUDY GROUP: there will be no study group this coming week. The next meeting date will be listed in next week’s bulletin.
Please Donate to Jamaica Relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa
The full extent of Hurricane Melissa’s destruction is becoming clear after the powerful storm swept across Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba. Your generosity is needed to support relief efforts. You can donate by phone: 1.877.HELP.CRS or donate by check: Catholic Relief Services, Hurricane Melissa P.O. Box 5278, Tipton, IA 52772 0517. Catholic Relief Services is a reputable Catholic organization dedicated to help people affected by disasters. There is no reason to worry about being “scammed” if you make a donation.
Tradition Corner:
November is the month of Holy Souls, this gives us a chance to partake in many traditions. One is to pray for those in Purgatory. An easy way to do that, pray the Eternal Rest prayer daily:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Jubilee Year
Making a Pilgrimage
There is a long tradition of making pilgrimages in the Catholic Church. This practice has been encouraged by Pope Francis during the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope. The Pope explains that a pilgrimage is a "fundamental element of every jubilee year." He also granted an indulgence to the faithful who complete pilgrimages in this
Holy Year.
Diocesan Churches that have been designated by Bishop Battersby as places of pilgrimages for the 2025 Jubilee Year:
